WWE Champion John Cena vs. R-Truth

Mascara De Fuego: John Cena. This is the match that needs to go to Truth. The WWE has done a great job in getting over Truth. He is the most unique heel on the roster. This build up in the last couple of months has worked and the pay off would be Truth on top if just for a brief moment. Problem is that although the WWE is doing a good job here, its still the WWE and they will instead put over another “John Cena defies all the odds once again” snuff match.

Great Puma: What will happen: John Cena wins. What I want to happen: R-Truth gets a clean victory over John Cena. Who else can make the name “Jimmy” have so many connotations? R-Truth has been on a tear in the last few months and he deserves a run with the title here. Truth is a wrestler who has paid his dues over the years and is now finally making use of his opportunity on the main event stage. Let’s hope this isn’t the last we see of R-Truth in a pay per view main event.

World Champion Randy Orton vs. Christian

Mascara De Fuego: Randy Orton. I hate the Christian turn, its forced and unnatural. They should have built to the full heel turn, every week slowly turning against the fans. Instead they just did a fast forward job on it which totally fucked it up giving it away in a matter of weeks. Smiley faced, baby kissing Orton wins.

Great Puma: Christian finally gets his title back. I actually think they’ll do it. I’d much prefer a face Christian winning the title here but I’ll take what I can get. Could the WWE be so predictable in pushing their favorite sons ALL the damn time? Hopefully, they’re realizing that pushing different talent adds interest.

The Miz vs. Alex Riley

Mascara De Fuego: Alex Riley. I have to say I am a little surprised how fast Riley has caught on with people. Whatever did the trick it would be just kill Riley (ala Kofi vs. Orton) if they don’t put this kid over. Miz has been getting bitched out a lot recently but his character can bounce back with this loss, Riley wont be so lucky since he’s so new to this portion of his career. Going from lacky, to being mentored to full time wrestler. If they are serious on building stars, they need to take the chance.

Great Puma: The Miz. The Miz will go over but I expect Alex Riley to whup his ass from pillar to post and then some. Miz will get a cheap victory and then Riley will still save face by finishing the Miz after the match. I wouldn’t book my former WWE Champion to lose to his former lackey. It just doesn’t sit well with me worked action soap opera or not.

Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Mascara De Fuego: Jackson. I’m going to hate this match, I can feel it. Such a shame too I did think this angle with the Corre was going to blow up and then it did but in a bad way.

Great Puma: Ezekial Jackson. Bobby Lashley/Brock Lesnar 2.0 is in effect. The WWE loves their big men and Jackson seems to gathering a following slowly but surely. After all was said and done, The Corre was merely a launching pad to Ezekial’s push to stardom. Sad.

The Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio

Mascara De Fuego: Alberto Del Rio. Cool to see Show serious again and actually in a real feud but the WWE wont do shit with it. ADR needs to be built back up quick on RAW and hopefully this helps.

Great Puma: Alberto Del Rio. This is actually wishful thinking. Show coming back from being ran over is a sure sign that he’s winning this match. I hope it doesn’t happen because ADR hasn’t established himself as the number one heel on Raw like he was on Smackdown.

CM Punk vs. Rey Mystertio

Mascara De Fuego: Mysterio. Another classic here and I’ll never get tired of this feud. They need to start adding main event shit to these matches like #1 contenders matches like a best of 5 or something so they can make this feud more than just about the great matches. Give it a little more beef, substance.

Great Puma: Rey Mysterio. Like MDF, I never get tired of seeing these two wrestle. Perhaps these two could main event Summerslam in a steel cage in August. I doubt they’ll book it but Punk and Rey Rey always know how to put on the match of the night.

United States Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler

Mascara De Fuego: Ziggler… no Kofi… well, these two have been getting the same build with the extra promo packages and having the commentators build them up like they just started in this. Anyhow it will be a good match just not really excited for it.

Great Puma: Kofi Kingston. It’s sad that Kofi Kingston is becoming the Junk Yard Dog/Tito Santana of his era. A talented and well-beloved face that never gets the opportunity to run with a major title. There’s no reason to take the title off Kofi and there’s no reason to put the title on Dolph. I just hope they go above and beyond our expectations and wrestle a great match.

02-28-11 WWE RAW REVIEW

February 28, 2011

For those who hadn’t heard, The Rock posted on his Facebook page that he would have a  response to Cena’s “rap” from last week. Also included in the post was a picture of a boot standing over Cena merch. I figure this will be a pre-tape.

The show starts off with Triple H’s music, he comes out to the ring to talk about last week. Josh Mathews and Jerry Lawler on commentary, go Josh! He mentions that it is official, its Taker vs. HHH at WrestleMania.
