The pay per view starts with ECW Champion Christian coming to the ring for this match with Ezekiel Jackson. I hope Christian can pull a good match out of Jackson’s ass.

Royal Rumble Results: 2nd Hour

January 31, 2010

4.  Mickie James over Michelle McCool via DDT.  New WWE Woman’s Champion, Mickie James!  Nice and quick.

5.  Taker over Rey via Last Ride.  Great match – period.  Rey hit two 619s in a row until Taker counters the West Coast Pop and then hits the Last Ride.  Taker bled profusely from the nose.

Kane talks to Shawn about his obsession over his brother.   Fuck HHH, every angle has to be a f*cking joke to him.  Shawn and HHH exchange good sportsmanship pleasantries.  Eh.

WrestleMania promo.  Quick cuts of past ‘Manias.  56 days away.

 6.  Royal Rumble starts.

Royal Rumble Results: 1st Hour

January 31, 2010

Quick results from the ATL:

1.  Christian opens the show.  Lawler, Cole and Striker are calling the matches.  Nice line up.  Nice emphasis on Ezekial’s power from Striker.  Springboard Plancha by Christian.  Ezekial does power moves: slams and clubs to the back and chest. Zeke throws Christian outside with Regal ready to get some shots in.  Ref sends Regal from ringside.  Christian wins with the Kill Switch.  Nice match that finally establishes Ezekial as a legit threat with power moves.

 2.  The Miz over MVP via roll up.  Decent match.  MVP controlled most the match until the surprise roll up.

Mascara De Fuego’s Royal Rumble Predictions

January 31, 2010

World Champion The Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio

Prediction: Rey Mysterio. No one is expecting Mysterio to come out with the Title which is why I think it will happen. Also Undertaker vs. Michaels at WrestleMania doesn’t need the World Title as part of the match, this of course is IF Taker vs. HBK happens again at WrestleMania. But it does seems to make the most sense. I’d like to see Mysterio go on and defend the title against either Jericho or Punk.

WWE Champion Sheamus vs. Randy Orton

Prediction: Sheamus. I don’t see them putting the title on Orton right now as doing so will end up killing off Sheamus’ push. I don’t think this match will have a decisive victory so both should come out unscathed. Maybe Cena gets involved of something stupid like that.

ECW Champion Christian vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Prediction: Christian. I just cant see them putting the title on Jackson who is just too green right now to actually represent ECW. Christian is the best champion the company has right now as he continues to be consistent with good matches and is good to have as the face of ECW.

Women’s Champion Michelle McCool vs. Mickie James

Prediction: Michelle McCool. I’m going with McCool just because it’s the kind of bullshit they would book for this match even though it makes more sense for James to get her vengeance after the abuse she’s been putting up with where McCool and Layla keep clowning James and calling her “piggy”. Not the best message they are sending out to little girls, especially with having James lose this match.

30-Man Royal Rumble Match

Prediction: Triple H. I hate to have to choose him when I want to go with CM Punk or Chris Jericho but I just find it hard to think the McMahon-in-law wont book himself to win the Rumble in the city he won it in the last time he won and go on to face Sheamus at WrestleMania. Punk or Jericho would make SO much more sense as it would lead to a solid Smackdown main event. Things have to change in this company at some point and Triple H needs to stop booking himself like he is a legend because I am sorry, he is not.

PWG’s Kurt Russelmania Results at WrestleReunion!

January 31, 2010

Quick and dirty results from PWG’s JaMarcus Kurt Russelmania!

Young Bucks come out with Brian Kendrick and cut a promo about how they should now be addressed as “Generation Me” and be called by their real names.  They turn on Brian Kendrick and start giving him a beatdown.  Paul London comes out for the save.  Nice crowd pop for London!  Bzzzzzz!  London and Kendrick send “Generation Me” to the back.  London calls Excalibur “Octagon” and dares him to make a match between Generation Me and London & Kendrick.

1.  Eight-Person Tag Team Match:   The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler), Ryan Taylor, & Christina Von Eerie defeat Johnny Goodtime, Malachi “CK” Jackson, Candice LeRae, & Jerome “LTP” Robinson via a tombstone-sit out piledriver combo on Candice LeRae by the Cutler Brothers.  Fun opener that featured two “double crotch-handle back suplexes by Candice LeRae.  I have to say that Christina Von Erie is definitely television worthy.

2.  Brandon Gatson defeated Brandon Bonham via rolling death driver???  I actually don’t know what to call it.  But it looked devastating.  A solid match that featured dueling “BRANDON” chants.  Brandon Gatson shined with a handspring moonsault dive to the outside.

3.  Octagon Excalibur comes out and tells the crowd that Chuck Taylor couldn’t make it to the show.  He rearranges a lot on the card and then royally serves some obnoxious piece of shit fan in the crowd.  HUGE crowd pop for that.

Business is Picking Up! – Bobby Lashley’s Strikeforce win

January 31, 2010

A glance at some internetz coverage of Bobby Lashley’s victory over Wes Sims at Strikeforce “Miami”.

But describing Sims as Lashley’s toughest opponent says more about the four guys Lashley had fought before Saturday night than it does about Sims: None of Lashley’s opponents have been particularly good, and that includes Sims.

In a fight that should not have taken place, Bobby Lashley stopped Wes Sims in the first round.

The result was never in doubt as Bobby Lashley simply ran over Wes Sims in a few minutes, winning via TKO in the first round.

Ring of Honor sues Ric Flair

January 30, 2010

According to, Ring of Honor has filed a lawsuit against Ric Flair, alleging that Flair owes the company over $40,000. The suit was filed this past Thursday in Bucks County, PA.

ROH says that Ric Flair was signed to make five appearances for the company, at $10,000 per appearance. Flair did not make the appearance in Montreal in July of 2009, and failed to repay the $10,000 that was paid to him for the event. Also, the suit alleges that Flair came to terms with the company to appear in an authority figure role on the ROH TV show. Flair was paid $35,000 for the TV appearances and only made one appearance. The second taping is when Flair showed up, and made a brief announcement to the crowd that he was resigning due to his relationship with WWE.

The belief was that Flair was going to use his relationship with ROH so that his son Reid could work there and continue his pro wrestling education. Those plans never happened, due to Reid being arrested on several drug charges last year. At this time, ROH has made no official comment on the deal.

January 30, 2010

Unified Tag Team Champions DX come out to defend their titles against CM Punk and Luke Gallows. Before they can go into their shtick Rey Mysterio comes out, he feels disrespected by HBK with all this Undertaker mess. Triple H breaks them up and cracks a short joke on Rey but Rey isn’t having it and challenges HBK tonight. CM Punk then comes out with Gallows and Serena. Punk’s beard is creepy like dirty old man style. Ha.

Punk and Triple H banter back and forth, Triple H says he doesn’t drink, smoke or do drugs but he doesn’t look like a hot mess like Punk does with his beard. Not a bad exchange actually even though Triple H is ignorant. Smackdown GM Teddy Long comes out and changes things up for tonight. Gallows and Punk aren’t getting their title short tonight, well fuck. Long sets up Rey vs. HBK in what he called “the first time ever” which is not true. He then sets up Triple H vs. Punk! Decent opener but I hope Punk & Gallows end up getting their Tag Title Shots soon as I think it would be a good opening for Punk to preach all over WWE programming, possibly adding more “disciples”.

During the match Matt Striker calls Triple H “the father of this industry”…what the fuck are you talking about dude!? Why has Striker’s commentary taken a shit since he’s been moved to Smackdown?… .oh right, he’s got people in his ear now. Fuck!

Triple H beat CM Punk by DQ when Triple H was going to go for the Pedigree but Serena jumps on top of Triple H to stop him. After the match the Straightedge Society beat up Triple H and go to shave his head when HBK makes the save. DX is left alone in the ring with Punk and Serena, Punk gets behind Serena and DX back up giving Punk time to get out of the ring. HBK fakes Serena with a superkick and she takes off. I am really digging Punk’s group and how he is shown has having some sort of “power” over these people where they would do anything for Punk. Good shit!
