07-19-15 WWE Battleground Thoughts…

July 20, 2015

Battleground

Didn’t give a flying fuck about R-Truth vs. King Barrett. Seriously, enough of this shit.

I thought the same shit about Orton vs. Sheamus although St. Louis thought differently since Orton is from there. The RKO to Sheamus was anticlimatic. A bad “out of nowhere”.

The tag team title match between the Prime Time Players taking on The New Day was decent.

Surprised how much time Reigns and Wyatt got but I was kind of suprised at this match. It was good and it seemed the crowd was into it.

The diva’s triple threat with Charlotte, Sasha and Brie was good. Glad they kept Brie to a minimum in this one. I feared they would give her the match but luckily it was Flair who got the submission victory.

I thought the Cena and Owens match was match of the night for sure. I was more of a fan of the first match still. I think it would have made more sense to have Owens pinned and not tapped out if you were going to have him lose. Should have saved the tap out. Interesting choice not to put the title on Owens, believe it or not I’m ok with it soley for Open Challenge matches. What to do with Owens now though..?

Brock vs. Rollins was going pretty well until they did the Undertaker spot… Yeah, the crowd loved it but 1-You just turned Brock heel (no one is booing Taker) a waste when he had recently turned face. 2-Taker just comes off old and bitter for losing at Mania and if he is coming to the aid of his brother who’s been workinng for the Authority for a few years now doesn’t that make him guilty by proxy? 3-Brock losing to Taker at SummerSlam does NOTHING for Brock who should be kept strong. Personally, I hated this. Lame ending, she show was cut off 15 minutes short. The match barely got any legs before this shit.

Overall an ok show with another good Cena/Owens match.

07-06-15 WWE RAW

July 7, 2015

new-raw

– Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman started the show. A little odd to see Heyman do face-promos although its basically the same thing. Crowd wasn’t too crazy about him bringing up Brock breaking the streak. Decent promo to open the show.

– Didn’t want Big Show vs. Ryback. Miz was on commentary and looked like he got involved.

– Didn’t want Paige vs. Brie Bella with he sister and adopted sister.

– Definitely did NOT watch Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus. Fucking can not watch a Sheamus match in 2015. His “are you not entertained” line makes me insane. Bray caused the count out… sigh. Orton came out after and RKO’d Sheamus… Looking forward to this match even LESS.

– Hunter convinces Seth Rollins to call out Brock tonight.

– Rusev and Summer cut a promo on Ziggler and Lana before they came out. Long story short, Rusev isn’t injured anymore and beats the shit out of Ziggler. Lana took some bumps via Summer. Felt like a looong segment. Is this feud over yet..?

– Bo Dallas and Dean Ambrose was short but got dueling chants. Ambrose with the dirty deeds for the pin. They need to stop sleeping on this dude.

– Fuck no I did not watch Barrett vs. R-Truth… fucking stop this.

– Rollins is out for this call out of Brock. J&J pull into the arena with this car Rollins gave them. Brock comes out but instead of going to the ring where these three were wielding axe handles, he takes 2 axes to the J&J Cadillac. He beat the shit out of this car. Brock ripped off one of the doors and threw it like 50 feet, part of it went into the crowd! It was nuts!!! It did look like it hit a fan, crap! Brock then took out Noble and “broke” his arm. Mercury took a suplex onto the hood of the car. After that Brock headed to the ring at Rollins and he got the fuck out of dodge and ran through the crowd. Brock then stood on the car posing to end the segment. Damn, this was bonkers.

– New Day took on the Lucha Dragons. Prime Time were on commentary where Titus took over the whole thing. It was a bit much… This was a pretty good match, notably Big E and Kalisto.

– John Cena had another open challenge for the US Title. At first he got Kevin Owens hot off of losing the NXT Title. Cesaro showed up pissed about last week and kicks Owens out of this match and takes his place. This match was stellar! I hate to say it but Cena might have won over Chicago during this match… it didn’t start out that way. Cesaro came off like a star out of this one even in the loss. The only bad thing about this match was Cena’s springboard stunner… its just bad, stop it. After the match Owens tried to powerbomb Cena but he got out and AA’d him to end the show strong for Cena.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Steel Cage Match

(RKO is Banned, Kane is the “Keeper of the Cage”)

Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton

Mascara De Fuego: Rollins. Let me first start off by saying, FUCK this pay per view. Nothing feels worth this show being put on. They should pull a UFC move and just cancel this bullshit. Who fucking care about this show that will be forgotten about!? Anyhow, Rollins will win this match when he and Kane end up on the same page again. Orton will huff and puff about being screwed the night after this shit. No reason why this should not be a good match. Orton will end up using the RKO as some point, probably after the match.

Great Puma: Rollins. Rollins is the best thing going in the WWE right now. There’s no reason for him to lose and Orton is over no matter what position he’s at on the card. I’m sure they’ll steal the show and an RKO-festival is going to happen so the live crowd can go home happy.

WrestleMania Thoughts & Predictions

March 29, 2015

wrestlemania-31

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns
Mascara De Fuego: Reigns. I love the idea of keeping the title on Brock Lesnar now that is he officially staying with the WWE for another 3 years. Unfortunately, I don’t see them keeping the title on him as they seem pretty dead set on pushing Reigns right now. It’s really too bad because a long title reign for Brock that leads into WrestleMania 32 would be even bigger, especially when you’re trying to fill a stadium bigger than Levi’s… As for the match, it would be the most technically sound main event but I do think it will be entertaining. It’s going to be hard trying to keep the crowd from turning on Reigns when all they want to do is to cheer the bad ass. Could Rollins cash in after the main event? Possibly. But I think they would save that for the night after on RAW.
Great Puma: Brock Lesnar. There’s just no way they’re going to put the title on Reigns after the unanimous reaction to clips of him at the Hall of Fame. Brock needs to leave Mania with the belt. I almost feel like tomorrow’s RAW is an extension of Wrestlemania and that’s where we’re going to see Seth Rollins cash in.

Sting vs. Triple H
Great Puma: Sting. These two really don’t have to do much, but I have faith in them to use their decades of experience to give us a more than memorable match. I actually look forward to seeing how they get the crowd in the palms of their hands with just pure wrestling psychology and heart. All we need to see are both of their finishers, HHH in a Scorpion Deathlock, the sledgehammer, the bat, and Sting winning and taking his final bow. I can’t wait to give Sting a standing ovation.
Mascara De Fuego: Sting. This match could either be pretty good or fall flat on its face. It’s going to be up to Hunter to do a little bit of carrying for Sting. It’s had the best of this Mania’s build up but it’s tough call if it will actually live up to the hype it got.

Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker
Mascara De Fuego: Bray Wyatt. Oh man… Personally I think this situation is best laid out of Wyatt wins this. Without the streak, what’s there really for Undertaker to gain? Nothing, except possibly doing a “losing streak” angle. No matter who walks out of the main event with the title, its important to keep Wyatt strong because after Rollins and Rusev he’s the next biggest heel which they desperately need. The match might be better than last years but I wont be surprised if it isn’t.
Great Puma: Taker. As much as Bray deserves this match since he single-handedly promoted it, people just want Undertaker to win. Taker is the last iconic wrestler of his era and if he’s only going to wrestle once a year, he better win it so us fans in attendance can go home feeling good about our lives.

Paige & AJ Lee vs. The Bella’s
Great Puma: Paige & AJ Lee. That’s all I want.
Mascara De Fuego: Bella’s. That’s all I got.

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins
Mascara De Fuego: Orton. Rollins will lose this match because the time is approaching when they will put the title on him and they love booking shit like then when people are about to win big. This will be the sleeper match of the card. Although when all is said and done, I feel it will be forgotten in time like most of Orton’s WrestleMania matches…
Great Puma: Orton. Rollins doesn’t need this win but there’s no doubt that this just might be the sleeper match of Wrestlemania. I hope Rollins kicks out and after an amazing RKO out of nowhere but actually gets pinned via a technical roll up. Orton + Scientific Wrestler = magic.

United States Championship Match
Rusev vs. John Cena
Great Puma: John Cena. Yeap. Let’s make the US Title mean something again and have Cena go SUPER CENA on everybody who gets in his way. But oh wait – Cena gets destroyed by SAMOA FUCKIN’ JOE at the post-Mania RAW. Okay, that’s wishful thinking but that’s what should really happen.
Mascara De Fuego: Cena. I do hope Cena wins the United States Title… anything to keep him out of the main event. Let him have a run with this title and take on the likes of Rusev and…. uh… um… yeah, I guess there really isn’t a lot of “contenders” for the US Title… I guess if you count Jack Swagger who’s been beat by Rusev close to one million and a half times… The match was decent last time, it should be again this time.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Bad News Barrett vs. R-Truth vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Stardust
Mascara De Fuego: Ambrose. Christ this has been a crappy build up, treating the IC Title like the Hot Potato Championship… At the end of the day, this will be the match to beat on this show. It could have been a basic build up on why each guy wanted the title but instead they went the version that needed a Lo-Jack to keep track of who had the belt. The one guy I think is wasted in this match is Daniel Bryan. I would almost put the title on him just to save a little face in the fact that he is not in the main event picture. But ultimately, I think they will put the title on the person who started all of the “hot potato’ing”, Dean Ambrose. I’m looking forward to this match the most.
Great Puma: Daniel Bryan. My heart says Daniel Bryan, but my brain says Dean Ambrose. If Daniel Bryan wins, we’ll probably get a heart-warming “Crusher” or “Connor” chant throughout the whole arena. After Daniel Bryan’s speech at the Hall of Fame I almost don’t see how the WWE can’t book Bryan to win. Do it for Crusher Connor dammit.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Great Puma: MIZdow. All I really want to see is Hideo Itami pull off the original GTS on somebody or maybe a few people. Damian MIZdow is the only person that WWE fans (no, I ain’t buying in to using “universe”) have connected to. MIZdow throwing The Miz over the top rope will be the perfect Wrestlemania moment.
Mascara De Fuego: MIZdow. The only angle of notice in this entire battle royal is the relationship being The Miz and his former “stunt double”, not “personal assistant” Damien San(MIZ)dow. This should be the focal point of this match where it comes down to these two have to fight it out for the Andre Trophy. Levi Stadium will lose their shit if/when MIZdow throws over The Miz to win. Other than that, unless we’re getting a surprise entrant, its the only scenario that makes sense.

WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-Way Match
Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. The New Day vs. Los Matadores vs. The Usos
Mascara De Fuego: Kidd & Cesaro. It’s too bad this is the match that will end up on the pre-show but if they are looking to get some decent time for this match, its probably best where it’s at. I will be a hot opener for the show for sure. I see the champs retaining big in this one.
Great Puma: Kidd & Cesaro. I expect all the wrestlers here to do their best and cram in some interesting moments in the short time that their going to be given. I hope Kofi gets to do something memorable because he been lost in the midcard for what seems like an eternity. A Kidd & Cesaro win here will make most of the hardcore WWE fan base happy. Go Kofi Go.

Fastlane Predictions & Thoughts

Fastlane_Predictions_HP

#1 Contenders Match
Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan
Mascara De Fuego: Roman Reigns. I know the rumblings of either replacing Reigns at Mania or making it a triple threat but my gut still tells me that they are sticking to their original plan and putting Reigns in the main event against Brock Lesnar for the title. What I do think will change the out come of the WrestleMania main event is if Lesnar does stay with the WWE. If he does, I don’t think you should take the title off of him and have this match as a learning lesson for Reigns. After this build up to Bryan vs. Reigns, the only one who’s shining at the moment is in fact the WWE Champion. As for the match, I have to think that Bryan will carry Reigns to possibly the best singles match of his career.
Great Puma: Double DQ or Double Countout. I want that Triple Threat to happen for the Wrestlemania main event. The WWE has to realize by now that Reigns is just not ready. He has a strong pop but it’s nowhere near Daniel Bryan’s reaction. Having Reigns go over Lesnar will backfire big time. The fans want Bryan to win, or Lesnar to retain. It’s as simple as that.

WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Predictions

January 23, 2015

Royal-Rumble-Main-Event-645x370

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match
Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
Mascara De Fuego: John Cena… then Seth Rollins. I hate this prediction but I think this is the way they will book the show. Brock being the wild-card in regards to his contract leaves him in an odd place. Yeah, he will work WrestleMania but I don’t think they will put him in the main event since it will probably be his last show. I would love to see Brock stick around but I think its a forgone conclusion that 1-the WWE can’t afford to keep Brock around anymore and 2-the UFC can afford him… with that, Brock will lose the title to Cena (who unfortunately then ties Ric Flair with World Title wins) but as usual for Cena, he will get cashed in on (again) and lose the title to Seth Rollins who will then go to WrestleMania as champion. Let’s face it, he’s been the ONLY heel that they’ve built up into a place where main eventing Mania is actually viable option for him. Lord knows, they’ve been sucking at utilizing Brock Lesnar’s limited dates. Maybe on the way out, Brock can put over Roman Reigns WITHOUT the title on the line.
Great Puma: Brock Lesnar. If rumors of Brock heading back to Dana-Ville are true, Brock Lesnar should leave the WWE after losing his title to Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania. This keeps Brock looking strong and allows him to come back on favorable terms, if and when he decides to come back. It would be bad business for Cena to win in Philadelphia on Sunday. There’s little doubt that the Philly crowd will drop a giant turd on any finish that doesn’t involve Seth Rollins or Brock Lesnar leaving the ring with the WWE title around their waists. I don’t know what they do with Cena for Wrestlemania and I don’t care. Brock vs. Bryan, and Sting vs. HHH is a strong pair of main events to build ‘Mania around.

Tables Match

(If Cena loses the match he loses his shot at the WWE World Title.)

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins

Mascara De Fuego: Cena. I think it would be stupid to go against super-Cena in this match. Ultimately it’s a meaningless match with the added stip to add more intrigue but that’s all for not. It’s hard to be excited for this show when NXT put on a great show on Thursday night!

Great Puma: Seth Rollins. Another full mark pick from yours truly. I really don’t want to see Cena vs. Brock again at the Rumble, but that’s the rumored plan for now. I hate it already and I would hate to see Randy interfere at the end to give Cena the cheap W. Whatever happens, I hope Seth is looking strong and I expect him to go all Shawn Michaels and steal the pay per view. (more…)
