SPIKE TV cancels TNA IMPACT

July 28, 2014

ImpactWrestling

Word came out late Sunday night that Spike TV is opting not to renew TNA’s contract. The news even made it to the main stream as TMZ has even picked up the story. Even  more strange are the stories that Vince Russo being involved with TNA still could have a deciding factor for Spike to sever ties with the organization.

So, what now?

At the moment it looks like TNA and Spike are trying to negotiate something out of this news. Possibly in regards to staying with the cable channel or an extension until TNA can find a new home.

IMPACT was still pulling a decent rating and if Spike doesn’t want wrestling anymore, maybe TNA could look at lesser known channels like ION who use to carry the WWE’s Main Event Sh0w.

If TNA does go under for lack of finding a new home, one could only imagine that it would be a matter of time before the WWE would purchase their library for the WWE Network. This could be a good move if for just filling in the void of explaining Sting’s career after WCW folded.

This is a big blow to the wrestling community and we will have more on this situation as it unfolds.

A few quick thoughts on John Morrison…

November 30, 2011

John Morrison’s WWE career is now over. From Tough Enough to tag team gold with MNM to teaming with Miz to winning singles gold like the ECW Title and the I-C Title, then to jobber limbo. What went wrong?

Many can speculate that it was his relationship with Melina that ruined his WWE career, who knows. At this point we all suspect that he is TNA bound.

Unfortunately going that route has done nothing for others who’ve come before him. Guys like RVD, Kennedy and Foley have all gone to Orlando hoping for greener pastures only to end up in TNA limbo.

I could only hope that Morrison is the exception but because he is truly talented and deserves a break but my gut tells me its not going to go well.

Morrison would be better off going the route of MVP, Hass and Benjamin. Either going to Japan or going to Ring of Honor.

All we can do now is wait to see what happens.

Good luck where ever you end up next.

Cena on Twitter a few moments ago…

July 18, 2011

From John Cena’s Twitter accout:

“I have just been ‘future endeavored’. Well..if that’s how it is I would like to take a moment to publicly apologize to Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson. In an effort to make WM28 as big as possible I tried to expose rock for his flaws. Very childish and immature on my behalf. My comments about the rocks absence were both unprofessional and childish. I am sorry. Rock, I truly wish and still hope in my heart of Hearts that the crazy old man who is the boss reconsiders his totally rash decision. Because chicago was insane last night And it made me think.of what Miami could have been. I guess sometimes u do not know what u have until it is lost. CeNation. I very rarely ask u for anything but I am down to my last chance. If u could tweet WWE to let them know not to fire me I would be indebted to u all. Im not saying its gonna work but sometimes they can not ignore the universe.”

I can’t believe they are actually going to try this “fired” angle again. Lets see how long this one lasts…

11-22-10 WWE RAW REVIEW

November 22, 2010

Wade Barrett lead Nexus to the ring, the crowd is giving them shit from the get go before Barrett could say a word. This crowd is hot and wont let him get in a word. He finally says he didn’t have a fighting chance since Cena had already made up his mind that he wasn’t going to win the title last night.

Danielson comments on release…

Posted by WWE.com

Since this statement was released I’ve been bombarded with messages asking me if it’s real, and by now I’m sure that most people know that it is.

Daniel Bryan released…..?!

June 11, 2010

from WWE.com: WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT first season rookie Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson ) as of today June 11, 2010. We wish Daniel Bryan the best in all future endeavors.
from Bryan’s Twitter: Just changed my twitter name to Bryan Danielson. The winds of change are stirring.
Although there are rumors that this is some sort of angle, this appears to be legit.

On a personal level, WWE has no one to blame but themselves on the failure of getting Bryan over. They screwed it up royally.

WWE releases Carlito

May 21, 2010

Yet another “future endeavor”…

WWE.com is reporting that Carlito was released for Wellness violations and for refusal to go to rehab.

Interesting as the WWE did a lot in the past to keep Carlito on payroll.

I look for him to either go back to Puerto Rico or TNA.
