Ring of Honor: WrestleReunion Results & Thoughts

January 29, 2011

The ROH tag champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli start the night with a promo cutting down the Lakers and Disneyland.

Bravado Brothers beat Caleb Konley & Cedric Alexander.

Great Puma: Solid match.  I was impressed with Cedric Alexander. His suicide dive between Konley’s open legs was very cool.

Mascara De Fuego: Good tag team opener, nothing too long which is good.

PWG’s Kurt Russelmania Results at WrestleReunion!

January 31, 2010

Quick and dirty results from PWG’s JaMarcus Kurt Russelmania!

Young Bucks come out with Brian Kendrick and cut a promo about how they should now be addressed as “Generation Me” and be called by their real names.  They turn on Brian Kendrick and start giving him a beatdown.  Paul London comes out for the save.  Nice crowd pop for London!  Bzzzzzz!  London and Kendrick send “Generation Me” to the back.  London calls Excalibur “Octagon” and dares him to make a match between Generation Me and London & Kendrick.

1.  Eight-Person Tag Team Match:   The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler), Ryan Taylor, & Christina Von Eerie defeat Johnny Goodtime, Malachi “CK” Jackson, Candice LeRae, & Jerome “LTP” Robinson via a tombstone-sit out piledriver combo on Candice LeRae by the Cutler Brothers.  Fun opener that featured two “double crotch-handle back suplexes by Candice LeRae.  I have to say that Christina Von Erie is definitely television worthy.

2.  Brandon Gatson defeated Brandon Bonham via rolling death driver???  I actually don’t know what to call it.  But it looked devastating.  A solid match that featured dueling “BRANDON” chants.  Brandon Gatson shined with a handspring moonsault dive to the outside.

3.  Octagon Excalibur comes out and tells the crowd that Chuck Taylor couldn’t make it to the show.  He rearranges a lot on the card and then royally serves some obnoxious piece of shit fan in the crowd.  HUGE crowd pop for that.

The Royal Rumble stat pack – SLAM! Wrestling
Jon Waldman has some very cool Rumble stats over here.

This year will be the 12th Royal Rumbles each for Shawn Michaels and Kane. However, if you go by Glen Jacobs the person rather than his popular red monster character, he’s ahead of HBK by two Rumbles and is entering his 14th.

Paul Heyman: “Brock Lesnar Is Not Going To Shut Up About Health Care!” – Heyman Hustle
Paul Heyman clears the air about Brock Lesnar and what happened in a Canadian hospital.

Brock Lesnar called yesterday. He’s pissed.

ROH at WrestleReunion Results

January 30, 2010

Decent crowd filled up the International Ballroom at the Hilton near LAX.  Lots of PWG chants.  Who knew people would treat ROH like Faker fans treat the Celtics?  Weird.  Anyways, on with the quick and dirty results:

1.  El Generico & Colt Cabana deafeated Scott Lost & Scorpio Sky via Colt 45 on Sky.  Great opener.  Some ridiculous double teams by Lost and Sky.  Cabana and Generico are always gold in their own right.

2.  Necro Butcher defeated Erick Stevens via roll up.  Joey Ryan interferes.  Both Embassy members gave Necro a post match beat down.  A “BUMP” road sign was involved.

3.  Roderick Strong over Delirious via powerbomb after a wicked back driver onto the ring apron edge.  Good match between both men.  Delirious was really gracious with the fans out in the lobby.

Official PWG card at WrestleReunion thoughts and banter!

January 30, 2010

Again, the old men of were watching old reruns of Manimal on Youtube last night.  They decided to take a break to Instant Message each other about the PWG card happening tonight at WrestleReunion.  Here’s what was said…

Mascara De Fuego: We should mention that PWG will have their card on Saturday night. What are you looking forward on that card?

GreatPUMA: I’m excited for it. This will be the first time I get to see PWG since I was too lazy and practical to drive to fuckin’ RESEDA of all places.

GreatPUMA: I’m looking forward to finally seeing The Young Bucks and the REAL non-WWE Brian Kendrick. Of course Rob Van Dam is going to be a treat.

Mascara De Fuego: For me, its going to be Liger and Generico!

(more…) will be reporting LIVE from WrestleReunion all weekend!

GreatPUMA: Two words. Liger and Muta. Okay…well I guess it’s three with ‘and’.

Mascara De Fuego: Where is “and” from?…

GreatPUMA: Parts Unknown I think. That or Fresno.

Mascara De Fuego: Fresno!

Mascara De Fuego: anyhow…

Mascara De Fuego: Liger and Muta is my pick too but I am also looking forward to Stan Hansen!

GreatPUMA: Very true. He’s one of the last true cowboys left.
