Dana White Speaks Briefly On Brock/Undertaker

ESPN, Two Mascots and GSP

December 9, 2010

I saw this first on BE. Enjoy.

What’s amazing here is that these ESPN commercials are slowly but surely educating the non-MMA audience about MMA. Learning a few holds and getting to know an MMA personality in about 80 seconds is better than learning nothing at all. Recently, Josh Koscheck was interviewed by ESPN to promote UFC 124 and ESPN had Brock promoting his fight with Cain Velasquez. I think these are small but positive steps by ESPN to legitimize MMA to the masses.

GSP’s other ESPN gig is after the break.

Nam Phan on his UFC debut, the Ultimate Fighter, and the Kos

December 8, 2010

This is old news in MMA internet time but I thought I’d post his since we covered Nam Phan throughout his tenure on the Ultimate Fighter.

Nam Phan discussed his controversial split decision loss to Leonard Garcia at the Ultimate Fighter Finale with Ariel Helwani on the latest episode of The MMA Hour. See the video after the jump

Brock Lesnar the Hunter

December 2, 2010

I have a feeling Brock Lesnar learned a lot from his defeat at the hands of Cain Velasquez. I also think he learned a lot about himself and had a lot to think about on this hunting trip. I have no doubt that Brock will be back better than ever.  I saw this via Bloody Elbow via Sherdog forums. See the rest of the pics at Enjoy.

Nam Pham added to TUF Finale

December 2, 2010

Ultimate Fighter semifinalist, Nam Pham will fight explosive WEC featherweight, Leonard Garcia, on the main card of the Ultimate Fighter Finale this Saturday night. 145 pounds is Nam Pham’s usual fighting weight. His last official fight was at an MMA event in April where he beat Rodney Rhoden via armbar in the first round. Pham defeated Spencer Paige and Cody McKenzie before losing a close split decision to Michael Johnson this season on The Ultimate Fighter.

Jim Ross on MVP’s great promo, John Cena vs. the Nexus, and the art of Promos

November 20, 2010

Good Ol’ Jim Ross hits another homerun with his amazing insight and commentary in his latest blog post. Here are some excerpts:

THE Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio has a bona fide upside but needs to be more aggressive and allow his mean streak to be vividly be on display when he’s on the offensive. I really think that Del Rio can be a star in WWE but it may take him a little longer than some may like. Patience is the key as Alberto has a great look, wrestling heritage, and the legit skills to be a major player over time and then for years to come. Del Rio walking the edge of the PG rating might be interesting.

Ladies & Gentlemen…Bread Hart

November 10, 2010

The fine folks at Bread People always bring awesome ‘celebritarded’ baked goods from Biscuitz Markie to Clint Yeastwood.  Today I’d like to share a piece of baked dough that is the best there was, the best there is and the best there always will be, Mr. Bread Hart.  Hopefully, my wishes will come true and Bread People will bake and create UFC fighter, Jonnycake Bones Jones, or perhaps the leader of the Nexus, Wade Bara Brith.  Boo all you want!  I think they’re funny.
