  • Ryback puts himself over and gives an open challenge. The Great Khali comes out to take him on.
  • Ryback pins Ryback via Shell Shocked

  • The Funkadactyls defeat AJ Lee when Naomi hits the Rear View
  • Bray Wyatt cuts a promo on Punk and Daniel Bryan. He calls them mere mortals and that they’re not mythical gods. Luke Harper got a little phrase in there at the end!

Highlights

We hate it when the Tag Team Champs come out first, or any champs for that matter. I don’t know how long Goldust’s push is going to last but I sure am enjoying his masterful ring work. When I mean ring work I mean his overall presence and all the little things he consistently does to get his character over. I marked out for his pre match squat where he looks like he’s mentally breaking down his opponent before they even lock up. This is why keeping older talent is so crucial to any wrestling company. You can’t replace years of character development and how the audience relates to veteran talent.

The match itself was fantastic. It was one of the best Smackdown openers this year, which is saying a lot. I’ll never get tired of Cesaro’s Giant Swing. Cody took it like a champ. The finish was great and it looks like the Shield have some competition in the exciting tag team matches department.

I’m not into the Great Khali and I’m not into Ryback. The match was okay for what it was but I’m never impressed when ever anybody goes over Khali. I guess this was showcase Ryback’s strength, which we already are aware about.

The Divas match was what it was. What good does Tamina do if she can’t really influence the outcome of AJ’s singles matches? The Divas division is almost like watching a separate pro wrestling universe strictly driven by the “success” of Total Divas.

The Usos got some fly ass new t-shirts. If was Samoan and 12 years old I’d definitely cop that shit. Good reception for Rey Rey.

Glad Rey can still get one of the biggest face pops on the roster.

Part of what makes the Shield so great is that they make their opponents look so damn good. All three of them have black belts in selling their asses off and making their opponents’ offense look brutal as shit.

The match was worthy of being the main event of any show, Raw included. The Usos performed at the highest level like they’ve been doing in the past year. They’ve definitely found their groove and I wonder when the WWE is going to let them run with the ball. Roman Reigns’ consecutive spears on the Usos looked hard as shit. Rey Rey was Rey Rey and I’m so glad he’s back on WWE television. He’s gotten some backlash in the last few years but you can’t deny his body of work and his ability. I really dislike the little teases of the Shield breaking up. I hope they keep them together at least until ‘Mania. Pretty please?

Randy Orton should thank Big Show for making this feud halfway interesting. That is all.

The Big E./Ziggler tag match was interesting. All four men are in the second tier and have the talent to threaten to be in the company of the roster’s elite. Big E. was impressive but half of the credit belongs to his opponents.

It’s a shame that ADR has reached Randy Orton levels of disinterest when it comes to promos.

Oh shit. Luke Harper’s Falcon Arrow on Daniel Bryan was a sight to see. Good match with some good moments but wasn’t as great as the first hour’s main event with the Shield. Overall this was a good episode of Smackdown with 3 strong matches. Definitely go out of your way to see the Shield vs. Rey Rey and the Usos.

It’s about time they had AJ lose a match. She should have lot the belt a long time ago.
