Money in the Back 2013 – Predictions & Thoughts

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Mark Henry

Mascara De Fuego: Cena. Mark Henry as been on point at the moment and I think the guy deserves to win this match just to put him even MORE over. His fake retirement angle should win this dude an Emmy. Unfortunately he’s going against “super” Cena on Sunday and I don’t think they are going to take the belt off this guy anytime soon. When will they learn that the title on him is just a waste? He doesn’t need this belt. Henry taking the title on Sunday would be a good move and a great match to set up with Bryan at SummerSlam. I’d much prefer to see that match that Cena…

Great Puma: Mark Henry. The MITB winner cashes in and beats Henry to send the Philly faithful beyond happy. Henry has been giving career highlight performances in the last few weeks and to deny him the WWE title is ridiculous. However, Super Cena overcoming a monster Mark Henry is such WWE thing to do. I’m tired of booking like a cynical wrestling fan and I’m going to go full-mark on this shit. Henry wins, loses, and then Cena uses his rematch clause for the Summerslam main event.

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler

Great Puma: Ziggler. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler are both missing something that prevents them from really getting the majority of fans behind or against them. I have a feeling the Philly crowd is going to resent the WWE for shoving Ziggler down their throats if he wins too easily. I expect this to be a more than competitive match. Hopefully the win and overall celebration happens organically.

Mascara De Fuego: Ziggler. Ziggler is starting to feel stale with me and I think its because he’s not getting fully over as a face. I think that’s more the WWE’s fault than his own. I think they need to put the title back on him ASAP and let him have a decent run with solid matches. It’s the only way you’re going to make this kid credible once again. Should be a good match.

WWE Title Contract Money in the Bank All-Stars

Randy Orton vs. RVD vs. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Christian vs. Sheamus vs. ???

Mascara De Fuego: Bryan. My gut tells me we aren’t going to see a swerve here and we’ll actually get Bryan winning the briefcase and challenging Cena at SummerSlam for the title as speculated. The only way I see that changing is if they pull out a really great mystery opponent to take Kane’s place since he’s been officially taken out of the match after the beating from the Wyatt Family. Yeah, they could go with Bray taking his place but I think he needs more methodical introduction to a match. It will be something special to see RVD’s return to the WWE and Philly that night and will make for a pretty good moment. Also, I wouldn’t rule out a Brock Lesnar sighting in this match, costing Punk the briefcase. Should be another good MITB match but I think the World Title MITB match will be the superior of the matches.

Great Puma: Daniel Bryan. This is for the hardcore fan base in front of a hardcore crowd. The rest of the WWE’s casual fan base will follow suit and actually root against the Ortons and Sheamuses of the pro wrestling world for at least one night. I anticipate a monster pop for RVD, and a few close calls that will make RVD the MVP of the match. But who’s taking Kane’s place if they even are considering a replacement? Shelton Benjamin? MVP? John Morrison? Just please don’t let it be a letdown like Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, or even Rey Mysterio for that matter.

World Title Contract Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Wade Barrett vs. Damien Sandow vs. Cody Rhodes vs. United States Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Fandango vs. Jack Swagger vs. Antonio Cesaro

Great Puma: Dean Ambrose. This is my full-mark choice. I know you’re never supposed to go full-mark, but this would be an incredible outcome considering the circumstances. The Philly crowd is well aware of who’s who in the wrestling world and a Dean Ambrose win would set the place on fire. This will probably happen at the start of the show or the first hour to set up possibilities of Ambrose cashing in later in the show.

Mascara De Fuego: Barrett. This is how I think they are going to go, its not really who I want but they just don’t have much going on with Barrett at the moment and they seem to not be over him yet. I would like to see either Cesaro or Ambrose take this one. This should be the best of the MITB ladder matches with these guys going out of their way to make a mark. Even Fandango has an opportunity to get a few memorable moments here.

The Miz vs. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel

Mascara De Fuego: Axel. Miz has been putting on some solid matches lately and now paired with Axel, this could be the sleeper match of the night. This feud has potential but Axel does need the IC Title more than The Miz does right now.

Great Puma: Curtis Axel. I assume the Philly crowd is going to be fully behind Paul Heyman’s guy on this PPV. The WWE shouldn’t play with fire on the outcome of this match. The Miz shouldn’t stand a chance.

Divas Champion AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn

Great Puma: AJ. They should just keep the WWE Divas title on their best female promoter until they build up someone we care enough about to continue to carry the title and the division. AJ has been gold and she should be rewarded with a well-deserved and lengthy title reign.

Mascara De Fuego: AJ. AJ’s been on point lately… Kaitlyn, eh I don’t know… Lame story short, they should just keep the title on AJ and have her feud with the entire (like five chicks) Diva’s division.

Chris Jericho vs. Ryback

Great Puma: Chris Jericho. Jericho has way too many roots in Philly for him to lose. I expect Ryback to get royally shitted on, and he better have the performance of his career to get the respect of the live audience. Perhaps the rumors of Ryback being “managed” by Vicky Guerrero will force things the other way.

Mascara De Fuego: Ryback. I don’t get the Cryback angle, I really don’t. This guy was fairly getting over (even with the Goldberg chants) but you fucked it up when you turned him heel and had him have a short and subpar feud with Cena. Now he’s just another dude on the roster and even worse he’s now got this bitch ass angle where he complains and calls off matches…. Come on. Maybe putting him with Vicki Guerrero might be what he needs or maybe its just time to flip him back over and slowly get the crowd behind him again. The only thing this match will do is at least get a good match as Jericho can pull this out of anyone. It will probably be a one off and wont lead to anything else.

WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns vs. The Usos (Kickoff Match)

Mascara De Fuego: The Shield. Look, I get it. It’s a packed show with a lot going on but you also could have moved Axel/Miz or Kaitlyn/AJ to the preshow. Putting the Shield on the preshow just because your out of time on the main show is not a good move. I would have left them off the show completely and made this match a big deal for the RAW the next night. You need to keep the Shield strong and lately they’ve just felt like an after thought. Stop it! You keep these three guys strong and possibly build up to a WrestleMania 30 match with the Wyatt Family. I know it’s a little early for this but I wanted to throw it out there. Anyhow, as for the match? It might be good but the Shield is still taking it.

Great Puma: The Shield. Thanks WWE for giving us a big money tag team match for free. The downside is that the tag team title scene is being treated like the WWE’s red-headed stepchild… again. I like the Usos’ recent upswing as of late but it’s the Shield’s time.

Personally, I would like to see AJ get the crap beat out of her. I hope Kaitlyn gets her good. Ziggler would be better without AJ.
