Unfortunately, the very first Zackdown does not deliver.

They introduce Zack Ryder as the tonight’s guest GM. He welcomes everybody to Friday Night Zackdown.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez interrupt Zack’s fist pump party. ADR disses Ryder and says he’s the next World Heavyweight Champion. Zack introduces Sin Cara who is booked to face ADR immediately.

Alberto Del Rio submits Sin Cara via Cross Arm Breaker

~ Decent match but I’m sure they could do a lot better. Sin Cara hit a nice Elbow Suicida from running diagonally across the ring. ADR made it look easy. ADR is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world today. I don’t recall a bad performance from him yet.

Big Show talks shit to Zack Ryder backstage. The Great Khali slaps Show on the shoulder and Zack Ryder tells Show that he’s facing Khali later on tonight.

Primo (with Epico) defeated Darren Young (with Titus O’Neil and Abraham Washington, who wore a live microphone for the audience) via small package

~ Another decent match but I wouldn’t go out of my way to see this. I don’t mind the live mic concept at all. I’d rather hear Abraham Washington than Young or O’Neil that’s for sure.

Zack is speaking with Sheamus in the back. Chris Jericho interrupts them and starts talking shit to Zack. Sheamus suggests that he face Jericho in the main event. Zack agrees and makes the match. Jericho wonders what a Broski is anyways. Ha.

Cody Rhodes & Dolph Ziggler defeated Christian & Santino Marella via Dolph’s Zig Zag on Santino

  • At one point Christian tags in Santino and Cody tells him that he wants nothing to do with him. Santino tries to egg him on and even gets in an amature wrestling stance. Hilarious!

~ This was the best match of the first hour. If you DVR’d this episode, skip everything and watch this match first.

Big Show dominates The Great Khali with a sucker punch WMD

~ It was about as long as this sentence.

Ryback demolishes Tyler Reks via Running Modified Samoan Drop

~ It was interesting to see Reks actually get some offense in. I think this is the first time someone was able to pull off two offensive moves. Good stuff.

Damien Sandow pins Justin Gabriel via Criss Cross/Straightjacket Neckbreaker

~ Really stoked to see Sandow every Friday. I think he’s exactly what the WWE needs. I hope the WWE has big plans for him.

Sheamus beat Chris Jericho via Brogue Kick

  • In the middle of the action Sheamus went all Super Cena and kicked out of Jericho’s Code Breaker.

~ I liked this match a lot and it beat out the Ziggler tag match by a hair for match of the night. That being said, I’m tired of seeing Sheamus kick out of every damn finisher attempt. They might as well book a super fight between him and Cena next year. Jericho was excellent as always and it’s good to know he hasn’t lost a step.

This episode was decent but it didn’t get me any more excited for Money in the Bank this Sunday. The main reasons I’m watching the pay per view are Punk vs. Bryan and the Smackdown MITB match. Let’s go Tyson Kidd!
