Ring of Honor: WrestleReunion Results & Thoughts

The ROH tag champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli start the night with a promo cutting down the Lakers and Disneyland.

Bravado Brothers beat Caleb Konley & Cedric Alexander.

Great Puma: Solid match.  I was impressed with Cedric Alexander. His suicide dive between Konley’s open legs was very cool.

Mascara De Fuego: Good tag team opener, nothing too long which is good.

Jay Briscoe beat Colt Cabana with the Jay Driller.

Great Puma: Why don’t more promotions have comedy matches? Colt is definitely a master at it and he and Jay wrestled a very hard-hitting and entertaining match. Big ups to both men here for performing their asses off.

Mascara De Fuego: Entertaining match, especially Colt. Jay’s finisher ends the match, not a million kick outs which was refreshing. Save those kick outs for main event matches.

All Night Express – Rhett Titus & Kenny King beat the Cutler Brothers with a combination DDT and knee drop.

Great Puma: I’m a Kenny King mark so I liked this match a lot more whenever he was seeing action.

Mascara De Fuego: A bit of a botch-fest that I just didn’t vibe with. Only stand out was King.

Davey Richards beat T.J. Perkins via submission with a cross arm-breaker.

Great Puma: MATCH OF THE EFFIN’ WEEEKEND (including the Royal Rumble!). Filipinooooo! The finish was unreal and I would be more than glad to own this match when it’s released. This match is a MUST SEE. TJP gained a lot of new fans from this match. Davey is the man for putting TJP over in his promo.

Mascara De Fuego: Match of the night! TJ Perkins is the Davey Richards of the Philippines. Matches like this is why I love pro wrestling. Richards vouches for Perkins after the match, nice touch.

ROH TV champion Christopher Daniels beat Mark Briscoe to retain the TV Title when he hit the Angel’s Wings and Best Moonsault Ever.

Great Puma: Daniels must have drank a double-dose of Lance Storms’ flask containing water from the fountain of youth. I felt like this was the Fallen Angel of 2002 wrestling in APW. I see you Michael Modest! Mark Briscoe more than held his own. Sick match!

Mascara De Fuego: Solid TV Title match. Daniels hasn’t lost a step after all these years.

WGTT – Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin beat ROH tag champions Kings of Wrestling – Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli when Haas won with the Haas of Pain.

Mascara De Fuego: Great tag team match for both teams, this is how you do main event tag team wrestling. Not only do I want to see WGTT more in ROH but I want to see Shelton as World Champion in 2012.

Great Puma: Yes, we writers here at FighterHayabusa are huge advocates for Shelton Benjamin being World Champion in any wrestling promotion. Incredible match and it was awesome to see Charlie Haas get the duke with one of wrestling’s best submissions, the Haas of Pain.

ROH World champion Roderick Strong beat El Generico to retain the ROH World Title when Strong used the belt to hit Generico then hit a Yakuza kick, and Gibson Driver.

Great Puma: Entertaining main event. El Generico is probably the gem of the indies right now not named Davey Richards. I’ll give Strong a lot of credit for being a dick heel. His post-match promo definitely got the crowd riled up! Good match and El Generico is my personal lucha savior.

Mascara De Fuego: Main event was good but it took a little bit for the crowd to get into it. Crowd was hot for Generico. Not feeling Strong as World Champion.
