Hayabusa Weekly Wrap UP!

by

NXT? Fatal 4 Way?  Batista in MMA? All things the Haybusa guys cover this week!

Mascara De Fuego: So Puma, I assume you’ve been enjoying the soccer matches?

Great Puma: Yes, I particularly enjoy seeing French people banging their heads against concrete walls. Just kidding. The French are great. Go Korea and USA!

Mascara De Fuego: There have been some good matches this week, but none better than Jericho and Bourne.

Great Puma: Agreed. Jericho vs. Bourne is the ‘Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk’ of RAW. Hopefully, they’ll give this type of program with Low-Ki/Kaval when he makes it to the Big brands.

Mascara De Fuego: Cool how the WWE not only has these smaller guys but it has the dopest of them all.

Great Puma: Pretty much. They have all the wrestlers that I’ve rooted for when ROH and PWG were just starting. Let’s hope and pray that Bryan-gate is really a work.

Mascara De Fuego: If it is a work this will be really impressive. This NXT angle would officially be perfect. Even if they save Danielson for when the NXT crew start to lose steam that would keep this angle alive for months!

Great Puma: It has to last until Survivor Series…oh wait…there is no Survivor Series. DAMNIT!

Mascara De Fuego: But wait, there IS! WWE has decided to keep the pay per view!

Mascara De Fuego: I think it was our Poll…. ahaha!

Great Puma: That’s right!

Mascara De Fuego: So did you hear the rumors of Batista going to Strikeforce?

Great Puma: Unfortunately. I feel it’s a mistake. The last update I read was that Strikeforce denied the rumor. Batista has no wrestling pedigree whatsoever. He might draw in his first outing but I think it will only take one fight to see how limited he really is, especially at age 41. Dear Batista, stick to pro wrestling…or acting for that matter.

Mascara De Fuego: Yeah, I agree. Stick with what you know. It’s too bad man, this guy was really shining those last couple of months. And to think, it all started with “I thought you were my friend”. Haha

Great Puma: Seriously. Heh.

Mascara De Fuego: What did you think of the Vince beat down by the NXT 7?

Great Puma: I thought that was the best thing on RAW since the debut of Santino’s Cobra. It almost single-handedly turned them into faces since Vince is really the ultimate heel in the WWE. The turn of the crowd chanting “NXT! NXT!” was pretty startling and awesome to see. Hopefully, the NXT will last a very long time.

Mascara De Fuego: I think they are onto something big here. I think this has enough content to last a couple of years. It will be interesting to see how the Apple Laptop GM favors the NXT 7

Great Puma: Yeah we’ll see if Mr. AOL will help this angle in the long run. So far they haven’t screwed it up.

Mascara De Fuego: I don’t know how I feel about this mystery GM angle yet. This could go really bad or hopefully better than some of these guest hosts (which I hope is over!)

Great Puma: As I’ve said before, I don’t think the guest host thing is over. There are always going to be things to promote. Plus the WWE loves to gain new audience whenever and however possible.

Mascara De Fuego: But Mrs. Brady? I don’t see how that’s going to bring in new fans. And the people who did watch the Brady Bunch are… well, us!

Great Puma: I think she might be a sleeper host like Bob Barker. That turned out to be a decent night of RAW.

Mascara De Fuego: Yeah, I’ll give you that but I think its going the way of Ozzy.

Great Puma: “Really?”

Mascara De Fuego: They just about killed that for Miz… fuckers. What did you think of NXT this week?

Great Puma: First things first: AGAIN, Kaval gets squashed after he carries 99.9 percent of the match.

Mascara De Fuego: It’s how it goes in the WWE. Dope guy carries the match only to lose to one move.

Great Puma: Husky Harris and McGillicutty show a lot of promise. Those two, along with Kaval, have a lot more promise than all of the Season 1 rookies (with an exception of Danielson of course).

Mascara De Fuego: I think this season did a lot better on promos than last season. It’s interesting that they are putting story lines into the show. But does this lead to Striker back in the ring?

Great Puma: Not sure. It would be a shame because I think I like Striker, the announcer, a lot more than Striker, the wrestler. But the guy can work a match so maybe it would be a good thing.

Great Puma: I think the crowd would get behind him since they know him pretty well at this point in his career.

Mascara De Fuego: I think this could lead to either Rhodes getting his own crew or Harris joining the last season NXT guys

Great Puma: Interesting. Why so (Harris joining Season 1)?

Great Puma: Could Rhodes lead his own “Legacy” type of crew with Hennig Jr. and Rotunda Jr.?

Mascara De Fuego: That’s what I was thinking!

Mascara De Fuego: His attitude fits the crew, plus he looks like he could wrestle better than most of S1 guys.

Great Puma: That I agree with. I’m really looking forward to a full length match from him.

Mascara De Fuego: Is it just me or is there something uncomfortable about looking at Eli Cottonwood…?

Great Puma: I dunno. The dude is just awkward. I don’t think he’s going to have a long career in the WWE. I see him being future endeavored in a year or two.

Mascara De Fuego: …and then he’s TNA’s next “surprise to change the face of TNA”…

Great Puma: What was the change in TNA? Dreamer? Jay Lethal being Flair? I don’t get it.

Mascara De Fuego: I think they are going to do an ECW invasion angle which is what I think Abyss was referring to tonight.

Great Puma: I wasn’t watching. That’s an outdated angle for a desperate promotion. It almost makes me sad.
I wish they did more with the Angle vs. the Top 10 angle than being “hardcore”.

Mascara De Fuego: The only thing that could help them is for Heyman to be brought in and to take full control of booking. That’s it, nothing else.

Great Puma: Did Heyman sign?

Mascara De Fuego: No but its “the rumors” going around that he’s coming in.

Great Puma: Eh. True. I’ll watch and support a Heyman product if it’s available. I still covet my Heyman OVW DVDs to this very day.

Great Puma: What were your thoughts on Fatal 4 Way?

Mascara De Fuego: I thought it was an ok show for the most part. The title changes were out of nowhere and the crowd was mostly hot. Gotta love Jersey.

Great Puma: I think it was almost an advertisement for bigger PPVs later in the year. The main event was used to push the NXT storyline, which was perfect in my opinion. I’ll never have a problem with Rey Mysterio holding the belt for a little while. The Smackdown main was good and Jericho vs. Bourne was tremendous.

Mascara De Fuego: Giving Rey the title for a second time was a nice surprise, I dug that although I would have been happy with Swagger, Punk or Show too but I didn’t expect Rey. I don’t get why they put the title back on Sheamus though, you?

Great Puma: Not at all. There is no buzz around that guy at all.

Great Puma: Sheamus is almost as bad as Drew McIntyre. Two heels that are totally being pushed down our throats and get no reaction whatsoever. The heat they get is negative heat, the kind of heat where the fans just aren’t happy to see them – period.

Mascara De Fuego: Bad pushes for unproven guys.

Great Puma: Agreed, sir.

Mascara De Fuego: Ok, on that note we are out this week!

Great Puma: Word, son. I’m out like Jamie Yager’s UFC tenure!

Mascara De Fuego: ha!
