April 19, 2010

If you haven’t heard because you’re under some rock or live in the mountains and only come out for the “matches on tv”… Because of the volcano in Iceland, the RAW crew is stuck in the UK still but the Smackdown crew has made it back and will be taking the reigns of the show tonight which is awesome! I enjoy Smackdown more than RAW! Lets see what bizarro world brings tonight!

SMACKDOWN Invades RAW tonight!!!

April 19, 2010

Due to Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano’s refusal to tap out, most of the key players on RAW won’t be making it to the RAW broadcast in East Rutherford, N.J.  WWE announced that RAW will have a Smackdown feel tonight:

With the volcanic eruption in Europe stranding the majority of the Raw roster, WWE’s flagship show is going blue. Even as the cast of the film MacGruber takes the reins as special guest hosts for the potentially cataclysmic show in East Rutherford, N.J., Triple H prepares to share the ring with several top SmackDown Superstars.

Jim Ross has his take on RAW turning ‘blue’:

The good news is that the Smackdown crew arrived in Newark late Saturday night around 2 a.m. Eastern time so there will be plenty of available bodies to produce an entertaining, 2 hour TV show.

In essence, Monday Night Raw will take on a different feel for one night which isn’t a crime.

Hopefully, Vladimir Kozlov, who didn’t go to Europe, will slam all the cast members of MacGruber outside of the ring.

Jim Ross on Strikeforce’s Saturday Night Slobberknocker

April 18, 2010

Jim Ross had this to say about Strikeforce’s Saturday Night debacle on CBS.

Miller tried to ‘cut in line’ of the list of challengers for Shields’ title and to obviously make himself relevant to Strikeforce fans and create a ground swell to earn a main event fight with Shields who beat Miller in 2009.

The most negative thing that came our of this mêlée was that the ‘thug element’ perception that many casual sports fans have regarding elements of MMA was underscored. The NFL is a cash cow for the networks and the NFL is held in high esteem but even the NFL is trying to clean up their act through the efforts of Commission Roger Goodell. MMA isn’t established to the level that their unsavory moments will be tolerated or taken lightly by a network partner such as CBS.

04-13-10 WWE NXT REVIEW

April 13, 2010

Matt Striker brings the rookies to the ring. Striker asks Tarver and Otunga if they are feeling the presser after big loses. He then talks to Gabriel but I didn’t understand what the fuck he said. Winner of tonight gets their own theme music, I kind like that prize. Smart shit. They need to do promos tonight.

Smackdown Moving to SYFY

April 12, 2010

According to a report by The Los Angeles Times, WWE Smackdown  is leaving MyNetwork TV and heading to SyFy. The deal will fully be announced later this week, but the report noted that SyFy will be paying $30 million a year for the show, up from the $20 million the company was getting for the show. WWE  was free to shop the show around to new channels, but had to move the series to a network owned by NBC-Universal on cable. Smackdown will continue to air on MyNetwork TV until late September or early October. SyFy formerly hosted ECW, and now airs WWE NXT.

04-12-10 RAW REVIEW (Guest David Hasselhoff)

April 12, 2010

HOFF keeps showing on the screen to get the people to cheer it… it doesn’t work. Hoff comes out in Knight Rider. Hoff has druids in the ring that have Hoff like masks on…!? He says its going to be Hoff-tastic tonight…Christ. This is bad. This fool is now booking Smackdown!?! He is booking World Champion Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton…!? This is painful.
